Just How Bad a President Had George W Been?

Over the past six years, George Bush’s performance, both in office and on the campaign trail, has often been less than stellar. But his packaging has, for the most part, been exemplary. He has been projected as a man of the people and a man of action. Never mind that he did precious little for the first 40 years of his life and that most of what he did achieve came courtesy of his father’s connections. Image was everything. This was the MBA candidate who would take care of business – literally and metaphorically; the blue-blood whose folksy affectations turned blue states red; the affable jock who created a softball team called Nads in college just so that he could make banners saying “Go Nads”.

Farewell Crocodile Hunter

All at the d-bomb would like to send their condolences to the friends and family of Steve ‘Crocodile Hunter’Erwin:

“With his trademark khaki shorts, chirpy manner and an obvious love of wildlife, Steve Irwin was known to television viewers around the world simply as “the crocodile hunter”.

“Mr Irwin, 44, died after being struck in the chest by the stingray’s barb while he was filming a documentary in Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef.”
“He often did this by putting himself at great risk, confronting crocodiles, poisonous snakes and other dangerous beasts in their own environment. This fascinating television was often punctuated by his trademark yell of “Crikey!”

Anyone who has seen this bloke on TV knows just how much of a legend he was, so it is a sad day that he should pass away.
